For single women and lesbian couples, having a baby through assisted reproductive technology is currently not legally available in Taiwan<\/strong> because of the country’s reproductive laws.     Where Does Donor Sperm Come From?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    In Taiwan, donor sperm can only be used under very limited conditions. Besides being legally married, the couple must also meet certain medical requirements, such as male infertility, chromosome abnormalities, or inherited genetic diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the United States, the process is much more flexible and transparent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      How Long Does the Process Take?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Travel to the United States for Egg Retrieval<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      You can travel to the U.S. for egg retrieval, which usually requires a stay of about 2\u20133 weeks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      After selecting a sperm donor, the fertility clinic creates embryos through IVF. The embryos are usually tested using PGT-A<\/strong> before one is transferred to your uterus or to a gestational surrogate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The entire process usually takes about 12 to 14 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Retrieve Eggs in Taiwan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Another option is to retrieve your eggs in Taiwan and have them safely transported to a fertility clinic in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Because international shipping requires FDA documentation and import\/export approval, this process usually takes longer. The complete journey is typically 16 to 18 months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
